Erica Mickens
My ideal client is someone seeking to find balance and healing in the midst of life’s uncertainties. I work with individuals navigating life changes, whether it’s messy breakups, preparing for college, shifts in family dynamics, or the everyday struggles that can feel hard to pin down. I value creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, comfortable, and truly seen—this includes sitting wherever you’re comfortable, we can listen to the music that you like.
I believe everyone can benefit from therapy at some point in their lives. I know there can be a lot of stigma around mental health and the perceptions that can come with it, but therapy is about having a space to freely express your true self without judgment. Therapy is a space for transformation—healing old habits, gaining awareness of thought patterns, and building resilience for whatever life throws your way. For me, the greatest joy as a therapist is being part of your story and witnessing your growth, healing, and journey towards resilience.

The bookstore. Despite the many unread books at home who would probably be jealous about a new purchase. Something about a bookstore just feels right.

I wanted to be a lawyer. I was obsessed with the interrogation of Michael Crowe and Law & Order.

I would make a passion exploration day where everyone had to go and try new things that may make them happy. Part of the rule would include free (reasonable) access to anything needed for this exploration.
