My ideal client is someone who wants to explore all areas of their wellbeing (i.e., mental, emotional, spiritual, physical) in a holistic way. Someone who is looking to explore root causes and dig deep. A person who understands change isn't something that necessarily comes fast and easy but can be beautiful.
I am passionate about helping those who have experienced trauma (abuse, neglect, medical/illness related trauma, birth trauma, pregnancy loss, accidents, and more). I am trained in integrative medicine and Trauma-Sensitive Yoga and use this conjunction with other interventions (CBT, mindfulness, strengths-based, etc.) to incorporate a mind/body connection.

I like being a therapist because it allows me to create an environment for clients that often lacks in our society. Somewhere clients can be their authentic selves and feel safe to explore all of the difficult and beautiful things that make us human. Trauma especially can be isolating and heavy. I want to help those who have experienced trauma (or who may still be experiencing it) know they aren’t alone.

That it can and should be as unique as each individual. I wish people knew that therapy isn't a quick fix or magic treatment, and that healing isn't always linear.

The human experience is hard, messy, and often doesn’t go according to our “plans”. Therapy can help with all of those not so glamorous parts! Somewhere you can be completely yourself without judgment. A place to explore all of your emotions, thoughts, fears, troubles, and even joys.

Success in therapy is when a client feels as though they are getting what they need out of therapy. Since each person's unique needs are so different, there is no one measure for success. To me, my biggest goal is to make sure my clients are feeling heard, understood, safe, and validated. This doesn't always mean therapy will "feel good" or be easy, but that clients feel safe exploring all aspects of themselves in our sessions. I love seeing the “light bulb” moments when a client can connect something we’ve been exploring/discussing in sessions, it’s just the best feeling!

I take an integrative medicine approach to explore the deeper root causes of concerns (such as lifestyle factors including exercise, sleep, diet) and utilize holistic modalities of healing. While I think more structured/talk-based interventions are important aspects of therapy, I am always willing to shake things up and step out of that traditional therapy "box". I enjoy incorporating meditation, trauma focused yoga, and other body-based somatic interventions. I also love to use humor and see your personality shine through in our work together.
