  • I enjoy working with people who are willing to explore the root of the feelings, thoughts and behaviors that may have led them to seeking therapy. My ideal client is open to the idea of inviting in more self-compassion and both learning and practicing different ways to access their own inner wisdom. This might involve yoga, mindfulness, meditation, or even taking some time to write and reflect during session. I am particularly passionate about helping people work towards breaking generational cycles, as well as supporting parents in navigating the huge transition that comes with raising humans.

  • It is truly an honor to witness people gain insight and awareness about themselves, then to work on shifting what is no longer working and build upon what is. I also find it inspiring to work in a profession that constantly reminds me of the strength and resilience that humans possess.

  • The only requirement is to show up and be human. Therapy isn’t a “quick fix,” though the skills and insight you gain can begin to help right away.

  • Therapy offers a safe, non-judgmental space to explore what may be holding you back from the life you desire and work towards creating a life that aligns with your values. Since every person has their own unique story, therapy is personalized to each individual. It provides an opportunity to better understand how past experiences impact present emotions, narratives, and behaviors, along with learning tangible skills to cope with intense feelings and unhelpful thoughts.

  • “Success” in therapy can look different to each individual. Maybe it literally means completing the goals you came into therapy wanting to accomplish. Maybe it means exploring how to show up for yourself (and often as a natural result others) with more love, compassion, and understanding. Or maybe it’s learning new, effective ways to cope with the challenges life throws at us and build resilience. It may even be a combination of all three.

  • I do my best to create an environment where you will feel safe, heard, understood and appreciated for who you are. Although I may offer insight, I cannot make decisions for you. Many clients and colleagues have commented on my warm and calming presence. I use a collaborative, non-judgmental, trauma-sensitive, and culturally competent approach to counseling.

Describe your perfect Sunday (or rainy day)
Slowly waking up, enjoying a nourishing breakfast and sipping coffee, taking a grounding yoga class, then going on a walk with my family.

What is your favorite place?
Up north, especially overlooking the lake.

Beach or mountains?
Beach – I find anywhere near water to be very soothing.

Which foreign language would you like to learn?
Italian - Italy is a place I have wanted to travel for years now and it would be even better if I could speak (or at least understand) the language!

What is your favorite way to move your body?
Yoga is hands down my favorite way to move my body. Kickboxing, dancing, and taking walks outside are pretty high up there too though :-)
