Therapy for ADHD and Executive Functioning in Michigan
Michigan’s ADHD Experts Offer Holistic Support Just for You
Your journey with ADHD involves developing a new relationship with your neurodivergent mind—one that works with your mind rather than fighting against it. In partnership with licensed mental health counselors at Reset, you can transform your challenges into strengths. Gain greater understanding of your brain’s preferences and processing style, how it reacts in different environments, and how your body responds. Receive support in-person and/or virtually at one of our four locations in Michigan (Plymouth, Northville, Farmington, and Ann Arbor).
What is ADHD?
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental feature that impacts both your physical and cognitive processes. In other words, your brain-body systems are wired just a little bit differently than other people’s.
If you have ADHD, you’re not broken - any challenges you experience are simply due to trying to function in environments that weren't designed for minds like yours.
Do I have ADHD?
Are you struggling with focus, organization, time management, or completing tasks despite your best intentions?
Do you lie awake at night feeling frustrated about another day where you couldn't accomplish what you planned?
Perhaps you find yourself physically restless, mentally jumping between ideas, or emotionally reactive to frustration in ways that impact your work, relationships, or self-image.
If any of these experiences sound familiar, it’s possible that you could benefit from specialized support.
LET’S WORK TOGETHER
Creating Your Personal Executive Function Support Plan
We'll work together to develop an approach tailored to your specific challenges and strengths. There's no one-size-fits-all solution because each neurodivergent person has their own unique profile. Your personalized executive function support plan might include:
Body-based focusing methods that work with your natural movement needs instead of forcing stillness
Environmental modifications that reduce unhelpful sensory input and support your attention
Energy regulation strategies that work with your natural cycles of focus and fatigue
Strength-based approaches that leverage your areas of natural interest and ability
Emotional management techniques that help you work with intensity rather than against it
Organization systems that match your brain's natural way of categorizing information
Self-advocacy tools for explaining your needs in work, school, or relationship contexts
But shouldn't I just try harder or be more disciplined?
The truth is that this is a common misconception. ADHD and executive function differences aren't about effort or willpower—they reflect real neurobiological variations in how your brain processes information and manages tasks. Trying to force neurotypical approaches often creates more frustration and self-criticism without sustainable results.
Adult ADHD Assessments
Reset now offers limited availability for adult ADHD assessments. The documentation from this testing can support your self-advocacy for workplace accommodations and medication management. Let us know if you’re seeking a diagnosis as you complete our New Client Inquiry Form, or reach out to your current Reset provider for more information.
*Please note that this service does not include youth neuropsychological evaluations for anyone under the age of 18. Educational accommodations such as IEPs and 504s will not be provided a a result of this testing service.
**All ADHD assessments will be conducted either virtually or in-person in Ann Arbor by Dr. Chidimma Ozor Commer.
Why Our Approach Works
Research increasingly shows the two-way street between physical regulation and cognitive function in ADHD. Physical restlessness affects attention; sensory processing influences emotional regulation; sleep patterns impact executive functions. Because these systems are interdependent, studies have shown that approaches integrating movement, sensory awareness, and physical regulation—alongside traditional cognitive strategies—create more comprehensive improvements in executive functioning than traditional talk therapy alone.
